Can I use Taxi Rank on my mobile phone?

Yes! We’ve fine tuned our website for all smartphones (BlackBerry, iPhone and Android) and Taxi Rank even works on most other web enabled phones too! What’s more is that you can bookmark Taxi Rank to your homescreen, just like an app, and then have quick access to cabs while you’re out on the move.

Can I cancel an order that I have made on Taxi Rank?

Yes, just reply ‘cancel’ to the confirmation SMS you receive after you place your order and the taxi company will be informed of the cancellation. The cost is for a normal SMS.

What areas are covered by Taxi Rank?

At the moment we have all the street names available in the greater Cape Town Metro as well as many restaurants, bars, clubs and hotels in the City Bowl. Then a few of the key beaches and other nice areas around town.

Do I need to choose one of the locations that are suggested in my search?

Preferably, to ensure an accurate quote, make sure that you choose one of the suggestions that come up when you type. Each suggestion has a GPS co-ordinate which we use to measure the distance. If you don’t choose a suggestion and go with your own location, then that is fine too but there is no GPS co-ordinate for that, so your quote will come out cheaper initially. However, when you submit your order the taxi company will see the locations that you have typed and when they confirm your order via SMS they will also correct the quote amount for your trip.

I can’t see a suggestion for the location I’m looking for?
